Why not combine a good day's sail with a visit to one of the Solent's memorable ports for some historic and cultural interest. There are of course many bars and restaurants that can be accessed from the yacht.

Portsmouth Royal Dockyard

It is possible to see Lord Nelson's Victory and the Warrior and other modern day navy vessels. If you are really lucky you may catch a glimpse of the Mary Rose.

Cowes

You can just soak up the ambience of the busiest yachting centre in the world. Origin of the America's Cup, you can watch the racing or simply stroll through the cobbled streets. Osbourne House (Queen Victoria's magnificent summer residence) is also close by.

Beaulieu

Peace and tranquility from this beautiful river in the heart of the New Forest. Visit for a couple of hours or stay overnight in the marina with supper at the Montague Arms. You could even take an evening forest walk ending with a drink at the Master Builders in Bucklers Hard where most of Henry VIII fleet were built.

Yarmouth, IOW

This is a charming pretty village of days gone by. There are lovely coastal walks to the Needles and across the Island to Fresh water. Great pubs and fantastic sunsets.
